The killed students (all in their early 20's) were brutally beaten until they all stopped breathing.
According to local reports, the students were accused of being members of a gang of armed robbers. They were hunted down by vigilantes from the village who accused the police of doing nothing.
It is one good thing to arrest a thief, but very bad and unacceptable to kill the thief without judgement. Who is even sure these boys were the actual thieves behind the loss of the phones and laptops?
The Rivers state police command is strongly opposed to such barbaric conduct, and has commenced diligent investigation into the matter.
Pictures and a video of the incident was published on the internet. The four-minute clip shows the lynch mob attacking the victims, before putting tyres on their necks and setting them ablaze. The video is too graphic to show here.
what if If these boys are innocent of the crimes they are accused off?Even if they were found to be robbers, does that give the community the right to take laws into their own hands?
I couldn't hold my tears back the day i saw the pictures on the internet,I was short of words.....Lord have mercy!
