Good News for Dar residents :City train project conducts the first trial run!
Deputy Minister of Transport,Hon. Eng. Dr. Charles J. Tizeba said,Train services will officially commence in October after the completion of railway renovation from Ubungo to station.It needs to be adjusted so the train can travel faster due to lower friction between the train and the rails.
A passenger train will travel between stations where passengers may embark and disembark.
Dr Tizeba also said his ministry was contemplating to introduce the ticketing system to prevent fraud in the railway service, saying he had already directed the TRL management to submit their recommendations to the Ministry of Transport next October.
