X Factor controversy:Bosses accused of fixing the show to save singer Rylan Clark.

Irish Judge Louis Walsh was allegedly ordered to go to deadlock — and that saw Carolynne Poole booted off.

A storm raged after show boss Richard Holloway was spotted darting into the studio and whispering to Louis and Gary Barlow just as Carolynne, 32, was performing in the sing-off.

The controversy began when Gary and Tulisa Contostavlos opted to send camp Rylan home, but Nicole Scherzinger backed her act, leaving Louis with the deciding vote.

Louis Walsh seemed to struggle to come to a conclusion when making the final judges' vote between sending Rylan out of the competition or leaving it to the public vote.
It's a really difficult one. I'm going to go with Carolynne, I want to keep Carolynne."Then he changed his mind, shouting, "I want to take it to deadlock."
Rylan, 23, got more votes from the public, so survived.

After the show, Walsh said he thought going to deadlock was the fairest option.
