Malaysia Airlines plane dissapears with 239 people aboard
Malaysia Airlines jet carrying 239 people lost contact over the South China Sea, raising fears that the plane might have plunged into the pacific ocean.
The plane, carrying 227 passengers and 12 crew on board lost communication with Subang Air Traffic Control two hours after takeoff.
Flight MH370, a Boeing 777-200 jet, took off from Kuala Lumpur at 6.41pm GMT on Friday and had been expected to land at Beijing at 6.30am but two hours later lost touch with air traffic controllers in Vietnam.
The flight had 153 Chinese on board, 38 from Malaysia, 7 Australians, 4 Americans, 5 Indians, 4 French, 2 passengers each from New Zealand, Ukraine, and Canada, and 1 each from Russia, Italy, the Netherlands and Austria.

In 2009 an Air France aircraft went missing like this and was eventually found in the Atlantic Ocean, resulting in the deaths of 228 people.
