Cameron van der Burghand and Chad le Clos.....3 Gold Medals for the African continent.....and still counting! 

 1st Olympic GOLD-July 29,2012 - Swimming
The swimmer Cameron van der Burgh won the country's first medal at the 2012 London Olympics, taking not only the final of the 100m breaststroke, but also set a new world record of 58.83 . He is also South Africa's first male swimming Olympic gold medalist and has resulted in him being nicknamed ‘Golden Boy' and trending on Twitter.
2nd Olympic GOLD-July 31,2012 - Swimming
South African swimmer Chad le Clos has won the London 2012 Olympic gold medal for 200 meter men’s butterfly, beating iconic American swimmer Michael Phelps.

A clearly shocked, tearful, le Clos told the BBC immediately after his win: “I was dreaming about this since I was a little boy. Michael is my hero I just cannot believe it.”
Le Clos beat Phelps to gold by two one-hundredths of a second, clinching his win in his final stroke.

Swimmer Cameron van der Burgh, who won South Africa's first London Olympic gold medal on Sunday night, tweeted: “CHAD LE CLOS!!!!!!! WHAT A FINISH!!”

3rd Olympic GOLD-August 2, 2012 - Rowing
Ndlovu led the South African lightweight men's four to victory after sprinting through the field in the final 300 meters of a dramatic race to win gold ahead of the two favorites for the title, Britain and Denmark.

The stunning come-from-behind win for Ndlovu, John Smith, Matthew Britain and James Thompson was also the first Olympic rowing gold to be won by a South African crew.
