Randy Jackson quits 'American Idol'

Randy, 56, was the only original judge left, after first joining Idol alongside Paula Abdul and Simon Cowell in 2002.

Jackson has been on the panel for 11 years - but according source,he has made way for an all-new line-up.
There's some concern among the brass that Jackson is not well-suited for the mentor role ... but they feel they need him because he's the glue that helps keep the show together.A source said.

Nicki Minaj is expected to be another new addition.Carey is not thought to be a fan of Minaj’s, although producers are delighted at the prospect of conflict between them both.

Fantasy hitmaker Carey is said to be keen for Lenny Kravitz to sign up to the show.

Kanye West, Keith Urban and Alanis Morrisette have all been mentioned in connection with a spot on the judges' panel.

So far, only Mariah Carey has been confirmed as a judge for the next series of the talent show.
