The world was baffled when Hip Hip royalty Beyonce and Jay Z named their newborn daughter Blue Ivy. But the odd sounding name didn’t quite catch on with the soccer mom set as Bey and Jay had hoped it would. The new mom and dad may have thought they were setting celebrity baby name precedence, but Blue Ivy was a poor choice.

And to be honest, they put some thought behind the name and it means something to them! However,their daughter’s commerce-sounding name didn't shoot to the top of prestigious baby name lists.

According to BabyNames.com, Blue Ivy has been voted the worst celebrity girl’s name of 2012.

Over 2,000 members of the website voted for the best and worst celebrity baby names of 2012. About 47.1 percent of participants voted Jay-Z and Beyonce’s daughter the worst celebrity baby girl’s name.
