Congratulations are in order for Shakira and her boyfriend, soccer player Gerard Piqué. The couple has welcomed their first child, birth of Milan Piqué Mebarak yesterday January 22nd at 9:36pm in Barcelona, Spain

The name Milan (pronounced MEE-lahn), means dear, loving and gracious in Slavic; in Ancient Roman, eager and laborious; and in Sanskrit, unification.

The announcement said that the couple’s first child weighed approximately 6 pounds, 6 ounces and both mother and child are in excellent health.

Big congrats to the couple.
