Be warned...Fake condoms in town!

Millions of fake condoms smuggled into UK over last 18 months,from Far East use cheaper materials that burst more easily,are now sold on streets of Dar es salaam.

The bogus condoms use cheaper materials and could increase the risk of users passing on STIs or lead to unwanted pregnancies.

The scoop revealed that 'Durex and Trojan' condoms are sold in Drug Stores and Pharmacies at a price of  Sh5, 000.

Tanzania Food and Drug Authority(TFDA),confirmed the existence of fake condoms ''Durex and Trojan'', assigned auditors to track the order and determine if they have the quality or not.....no feedback to date.

This is not the first for fake condoms to be imported into the country.In December 20,last year ..a container of male condoms ''Melt Me out'' from India was scouted in Dar es Salaam port and found that they were not suitable for use .
