Rapper Ja Rule released from prison after serving two years

The US rapper was released Tuesday from a New York prison after served two years for gun possession and tax evasion charges.

Ja Rule — whose real name is Jeffrey Atkins pled guilty to attempted criminal possession of a weapon in 2010 due to an incident that took place in 2007 when cops found a loaded semi-automatic handgun in his car. He turned himself in June 2011.
