Chiwetel Ejiofor and Idris Elba nominated for Golden Globes Awards

Idris Elba received a Golden Globe Best Actor nomination for his roles as Mandela in the movie; Mandela: Long Walk To Freedom', while Chiwetel Ejiofor got his Best Actor nomination for his role as Solomon Northup in the "12 Years A Slave"— Historical drama starred by Kenya's Lupita Nyong'o . Chiwetel also got a SAG Awards nomination.

"12 Years a Slave" won most nominations for the Golden Globes with seven nods on Thursday, as Hollywood's awards season heats up.

Elba's nomination, for a film which had its London premiere on the day the South African anti-apartheid hero died, drew applause from the media and Hollywood watcher audience.

I haven't seen any of the movies, but Let the best man win!.....They r both good actors. The two actors are up against, Tom Hanks - Captain Phillips, Matthew McConaughey - Dallas Buyers Club and Robert Redford for All is Lost.

The 71st Annual Golden Globe Awards are due to be hosted by Tina Fey and Amy Poehler on Sunday, January 12, 2014.
