Israel builds detention center for African Asylum seekers in the desert
The prison for Africans who have escaped their homes to find freedom...........
The Israeli government has built a 9,000 migrants capacity detention facility to house the growing influx of African refugees who try to cross Sinai border into Israel.
According to the Israeli government, the illegal immigrants who seek asylum in the country are becoming a burden to the govt (jobs and society under threat), so they will be detained until the government is able to repatriate them back to their countries.
The new facility "a De-facto prison" as called by human rights group, is situated in the southern desert where the land is barren and unwelcoming- it's unforgiving territory.
The immigrants will be locked down at night, and forced to check-in with the Israeli authorities three times per day. They will also be barred from working outside the centre.
New facility with an ominous steel fence, cameras, radar and motion detectors.
There are currently upwards of 50,000 African asylum seekers in Israel, with 90% of them coming from Sudan and Eritrea. Israel clarifies them as infiltrators, not refugees.
