Lupita Nyong’o wins NAACP Award
Actress Lupita Nyong’o who has been the belle of awards season continued her winning streak.
The “12 Years a Slave” breakout star won the Best Supporting Actress award at the 2014 Image Awards Saturday night in Pasedena, California.
Nyongo’o beat out a tough field for the honor. She faced co-star Alfre Woodard, Oprah Winfrey (Lee Daniels’ The Butler), Naomie Harris (Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom) and Octavia Spencer (Fruitvale Station) in the Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Motion Picture category.
