10 killed in California bus crash
A FedEx truck smashed head-on with a charter bus carrying students near Orland, California Thursday, killing 10 people and injuring dozens of others, authorities say.
The accident happened on Interstate 5 near Orland, Glenn County, in the northern part of the state. The FedEx truck crossed into oncoming traffic, striking a northbound car before colliding with the bus.
19 students were aboard the bus to a spring preview day at Humboldt State University in Arcata. Some students escaped the burning bus through an emergency exit, others smashed windows and unfortunately others couldn't make it.
The drivers of the bus and truck were killed, along with eight other people inside the bus.
