NBA bans racist L.A Clippers owner for life
Good move!...
Los Angeles Clippers‘ owner Donald Sterling has been banned from the National Basketball Association (NBA) for life, after the leaking of a racist recording ― scolding his girlfriend Stiviano for posting Instagram photos of her socializing with black people. He also implored her to not bring African-American guests to his games. (In case you missed it, read HERE!).
NBA commissioner Adam Silver made the announcement at a press conference, where it was revealed that Sterling has been banned from the association for life and will be fined $2.5million for his disturbing rant.
The 81 year old is barred from attending NBA games or practices, being present at any Clippers facility, or participating in any business or player personnel decisions involving the team. He's also barred from attending NBA board meetings or participating in any league activities.
Silver said he will try to force the controversial owner to sell his franchise, which he has owned since the 80's.
The commissioner said Sterling acknowledged he was the man on the tape, adding the views expressed by him are deeply offensive and harmful.
The $2.5 million fine will be donated to anti-discrimination and tolerance efforts.
He's so crazy n dumb, and 99% of his players are black.
