South Africans dominate!

MTV Base has announced the nominees for this year’s MTV Africa Music Awards yesterday, Wednesday, 16 April 2014.

The biggest and brightest contemporary artists from across the African continent and beyond were nominated in 15 different categories.

Out of fifteen different categories, South African has been nominated in thirteen categories and includes some of the biggest names in country's entertainment industry such as Mafikizolo, Uhuru, Mi Casa, Trevor Noah among many others.

Tanzania has been nominated in three categories. Diamond got two nods for Best male and Best Collaboration while Anisa Mpungwe receives one nods for Transform Today by Absolut.

MAMA scheduled to come off at the at the Durban International Convention Centre (ICC) on June 7, 2014.

The awards will take place in South Africa for the first time on 7 June 2014 at the Durban International Convention Centre (ICC) in Durban and will air live across the continent at 9:00PM on MTV Base (DStv Channel 322) and MTV (DStv Channel 130).
