Pharrell Williams reacts to Iranian fans arrest over 'Happy' video

A group of young Iranians who appeared in an Iranian online version of Pharrell Williams's hit song 'Happy' have been arrested.

Six people have reportedly been detained in connection with "an obnoxious" video released on social networking websites.

The video shows three men and three unveiled women dancing to the song on the streets and rooftops of Tehran...... described as a wrongdoing.

The song has sparked similar videos all over the world. But in Iran, some see the trend as promoting the spread of Western culture.

Pharrell reacted to the news by posting on Facebook:
It is beyond sad that these kids were arrested for trying to spread happiness.
Strange, being happy is a crime!....love my country—freedom of choice at its best.
