Cristiano Ronaldo wins 2014 FIFA world footballer of the year

The Real Madrid forward Cristiano Ronaldo has won the Ballon d'Or world footballer of the year award for the third time.

The 29-year-old Portuguese captain beat Barcelona forward Lionel Messi and Bayern Munich goalkeeper Manuel Neuer to the award.

Final votes:
    Cristiano Ronaldo 37.66% of all votes.
    Lionel Messi - 15.76%.
    Manuel Neuer, who had 15.72%.
