African passport to be out in July 2016
In a bid to show solidarity and promote free movement of Africans within their region and other parts of the continent, Africa will soon have its African passport .
The announcement was made Tuesday, April 5, 2016, by the President of the Commission of the African Union, Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma .
The document will ensure that its holders can stay without a visa for a period of 30 days in any country of the continent. This is a breakthrough in cooperation between the countries of Africa .
The first beneficiaries of this African passport will be the heads of states and governments. They will have the first copies which will be produced in July 2016, during their summit in Kigali in Rwanda.
For now, there is no information on the circulation of how ordinary citizens can get a copy of the prestigious document.
