HE Spice Girls performance at the London 2012 Olympics closing ceremony has been one of the most talked about gigs of the year. It’s been reported last night’s gig will be the last time ever the Spice Girls will perform live as a quintet.

As a swarm of taxis circuited the stadium, five cars made their way to the centre before Victoria Beckham, Mel C, Mel B, Emma Bunton and Geri Halliwell popped out.

They regaled the audiences by singing two hits from their whirlwind two-album career in the late 1990s and early 2000s. "Wannabe" and "Spice Up Your Life" respectively.

Storming on to the stage on top of five traditional black cabs which reflected their individual personalities, the fabulous five emerged to a rapturous applause as they performed their first smash hit single, Wannabe.
