Steven Gerrard to leave Liverpool at end of season

Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard is set to make the shock announcement that he will leave Anfield at the end of the season, ending a roller-coaster 25-year association with the English giants.

The 34-year-old midfielder will join a Major League Soccer (MLS) club Los Angeles Galaxy in the summer.

Former Liverpool teammate Jamie Carragher described Gerrard’s decision as a “sad day”.
